San Francisco Bay Receives International Recognition

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Pacific Flyway, National Audubon Society and many others celebrated the 2013 designation of the San Francisco Bay as a "Ramsar" Wetland of International Importance.

The San Francisco Bay is the largest estuary on the Pacific Coast providing habitat for more than 1,000 species of mammals, birds, invertebrates and more than 130 species of fish.

The San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex was recognized as part of the dedication.
